The building known as Godavari and other buildings in Shantivan Complex, Borivli (East), 400066 was developed/ constructed by M/s. Shantivan Developers Pvt. Ltd. (formerly known as M/s.D.Goyal Developers Pvt. Ltd.). The construction of A, B,C and D wings of the building known as Godavari Co-operative Housing Society was completed in the year 1987 and E and F wings were completed in 1988. People started staying in their dream homes in this building since September 1987. In all, the building has 92 flats and 29 shops. Ever since the inception, the residents of Godavari CHS had very good social and cultural bonding. They started celebrating Annual day from the year 1988 onwards and continued even now with sports and games, cultural programmes, Satyanarayan Pooja and get together with dinner. Shantivan Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal was established in 1988 with the initiative taken by mainly the residents of Godavari and other buildings of Shantivan. Similarly, Navaratri Utsav and Dahi Handi Utsav are also being celebrated along with the residents of other buildings. The Godavari Co-operative Housing Society Ltd. was registered under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 vide no.BOM/WR/HSG/TC/4752-89-90 dated 9-10-1989, by the builder. The first Managing Committee of this Society was formed in April 1990 and soon the administration of the building was handed over to the Society. The Society has been maintained well by the Managing Committees from time to time. The people living in the locality considered Godavari as an ideal residential society in Shantivan, due to the proficient maintenance, social harmony in the society and unity among the members. In the year 1998, a new Wing of Godavari Building viz. G Wing was constructed and the residents of G Wing also became a part of the Godavari family. Subsequently,

G Wing was got registered as a separate Society known as Godavari G CHS Ltd., and the Managing Committee took over control and administration of the Wing. Godavari, which has been a motherly abode of the residents for the last 36 years, is now set for a metamorphosis. She is looking forward to become a modern high-rise with all latest amenities. In this new form too, she will surely bless her original as well as new residents with palatial and prosperous homes. All residents and Committee Members are working together to facilitate this transformation. No doubt, their hard work will reward them with splendid success.
